Your Opportunity:

As a strategic Human Resources Advisor, you will align human resources strategies with the organization’s vision and strategic priorities. You will lead and support the execution of HR programs including employee relations, employee engagement, total rewards, talent acquisition and employee retention; serve as a coach to people leaders; and provide advice and support to people leaders and staff on HR policies, procedures, and employment law.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage talent acquisition for your client group with a hands-on approach. Scan recruitment processes through an EDI lens, providing advice and guidance to hiring managers as required, proactively make recommendations for process improvements.
  • Provide guidance and coaching to leaders on employee relations and conflict resolution, escalating when necessary.
  • Provide advice and guidance to staff on employment issues.
  • Respond to inquiries from staff and people leaders and escalate, as necessary.
  • Administer benefits and compensation programs. Analyze trends and propose competitive total rewards package to enhance the employee value proposition.
  • Manage employee records and HR data.
  • Apply understanding of HFHT policies, employment law, and other regulations.
  • Identify training needs, develop and deliver training programs, as required.
  • Champion an inclusive, values-based culture. Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with ‘Our Way of Being’.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as an HR Advisor, preferably in healthcare.
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or a related field; CHRP/CHRL designation.
  • Demonstrated ability to be an influential and credible leader who proactively provides support, follow-up, and execution to ensure results are achieved.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; able to adapt communication style within all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent time-management, documentation and organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage ambiguity and work in a rapidly changing, complex work environment.
  • Ability to travel to different practices and hub sites within and around Hamilton.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  • Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
  • High level of competency with computers and information technology.
  • Respects and values the diversity of communities and individuals.

Employee Class: up to 1.0 FTE

Schedule: Monday-Friday

Pay Range: $67,400 to $77,000 per annum
