Celebrating National Nursing Week – May 11-17, 2026

National Nursing Week 2026 runs Monday, May 11 to Sunday, May 17. This year’s theme is The Power of Nurses to Transform Health: a reminder that nursing leadership and everyday care can change outcomes for patients, families, and communities.

The theme celebrates how nurses transform health through compassion, clinical expertise, innovation, and advocacy. From bedside to boardroom, nurses improve safety, strengthen access, and champion patient-centred care. Use this week to recognize nursing excellence, share stories of impact, and join events and resources that amplify the power of nurses to lead change.

At the Hamilton Family Health Team, primary care nurses work with family physicians, nurse practitioners, and interprofessional providers to deliver team-based, patient-centred care. They assess and triage concerns, provide health teaching and coaching, support chronic disease prevention and management, deliver immunizations and screening, and help patients navigate community and social supports. By coordinating care, monitoring follow-up, and advocating for patients and families, nurses strengthen access, continuity, and better health outcomes.

Thank you to the primary care nurses at the Hamilton Family Health Team for the compassionate, skilled, and patient-centred care you provide every day. During National Nursing Week (May 11–17, 2026), we celebrate The Power of Nurses to Transform Health, and we’re grateful for the leadership, advocacy, and innovation you bring to our community.
