Physician Assistant
Practice Site: Bayfront Medical (605 James St N Suite 102, Hamilton ON)
Reports to: Drs. Aldina Matos and Mohamad Alshurafa
Salary Range: $49-52/hour, negotiable based on experience
Status: Permanent, Full Time, Temporary, Part Time

Introduction
We are looking for a Physician Assistant (PA) to join our primary care practice. The successful applicant will be a critical member of our healthcare team providing comprehensive medical care to our diverse patient population.
Job Description and Responsibilities:

  • Work in collaboration with a supervising physician as per the CPSO’s Delegation of Controlled Acts
  • Deliver comprehensive clinical care: perform physical assessments, order and interpret appropriate investigations, write medical orders and prescriptions, facilitate referrals to appropriate specialists or agencies, administer immunizations, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and assist with in-office minor procedures/surgeries as required
  • Collaborate with our team of physicians, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals in delivering quality, coordinated care
  • Maintain accurate and detailed electronic medical records for continuity of care and effective communication with all members of our healthcare team

Qualifications:

  • Eligible to work in Ontario, Canada
  • At minimum, a bachelor’s degree in an accredited Physician Assistant program in Canada or the United States
  • Must be a Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) and/or an American Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C)
  • If a new PA graduate, must be eligible to write the PACCC PA Entry to Practice Exam. Employment is contingent on passing within the first year of employment.
  • Must be a current member of the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants (CAPA)
  • Maintain certification and CCPA/PA-C designation by completing the required CPD/CME credits
  • Previous experience in family or emergency medicine is preferred
  • Familiarity with Telus PS Suite or similar EMR is preferred
